The Internet

Last November, SMART launched the first and only unlimited BlackBerry plans in the country. Finally, almost a month after SMART’s launch of the unlimited BlackBerry Prepaid Service (Prepaid BIS) Globe launched a similar service – the Globe BlackBerry Prepaid.

Globe has been offering BlackBerry 8520 prepaid phone kits since the 3rd quarter of 2009 but they didn’t offer prepaid BlackBerry service then. So, the hundreds of BlackBerry prepaid phone kits sold were pretty useless, in my opinion, due to the absence of BlackBerry Internet Service, which was only available to postpaid subscribers then. I jumped into the BlackBerry bandwagon last October after months of contemplating, saving, wishing and hoping. Why I made the switch from the iPhone to the BlackBerry? I simply got tired of the iPhone’s touchscreen. So, there you go! I made the switch from being an iPhone user to being a BlackBerry user. I’m with Globe right now and I never regretted a thing except for the ridiculous monthly service fee that I need to pay and the poor 3G signal in my area.

I squealed like a pig (literally) when I found out this morning that SMART is now offering the first and only Unlimited BlackBerry Plans in the country. SMART is really smart unlike the competitor, who offered BlackBerry 8520 prepaid phone kits a couple of months ago without even thinking that there’s also a need for them to offer prepaid BlackBerry data plans so their customers could use the phone’s features (push e-mail, internet browsing, instant messaging, etc). In fact, a couple of people already suggested on the Globe Feedback Forum the idea of offering prepaid BlackBerry service. I even bombarded my Twitter followers and even FaceBook friends asking them to vote for the said “idea” so that Globe will take notice and act. Up to now, I haven’t heard from Globe. I don’t know if they’re even considering the idea.

So, now I present to you Smart’s Unlimited BlackBerry Prepaid Plans! This service is somewhat similar to what Malaysia’s Xpax is offering.

I really don’t know what to say when I heard the news that my podcast, Brink Notes Entertainment Daily Podcast, has bagged the Best Podcast Award at the 2009 Philippine Blog Awards held at the PETA Theatre in Quezon City. Obviously, I wasn’t at the awarding ceremonies. I was in school performing for “Dancing in September,” a culminating activity for all dance classes offered at the UP Diliman College of Human Kinetics, which also served as our PE final examination. Besides, traffic was worse going to UP Diliman to MRT-North Avenue Station. And yes, the MRT sucks big time that night.

I forget how I felt that night but what I am sure of is that my mom cried (literally) when I told her that I won. I wasn’t really expecting to win because of the three finalists on the Best Podcast category, Brink Notes Entertainment Daily Podcast was the only podcast hosted by one person (me!), which I think, made my podcast boring or bland. Haha. What I know is that I really exerted a lot of effort on that show being a daily podcast and that I really like what I am doing. Last summer, I would wake up early in the morning, write my show, ask my mom to leave the room (so I can record :P ), record, edit and upload the show on the same day. My efforts have paid off.

Like I said on my last entry, I’m forever grateful to everyone who has been with me through my journey in the podcasting world. Thank you, really!
